David & Will the owners are really down-to-earth, y'know classic Australian guys.Y'know, they started the company in '96. They had a messenger company & they had a guy at work called Stew, & Stew was one of their couriers And Stew was an Industrial Designer kinda moonlighted as an Industrial Designer but courier during the day just to make money for him to buy pizza & beer basically . He designed a couple of bags, and Daven & Will started getting calls about " Hey where can I get one of those messenger bags, the bright color messenger bags, the one that your couriers are using?" and that's kinda how it got started. So Daven & Willis got together & put their heads together & they were like why don't we start a bag company.
When we get customers to come in here especially for beer for bags, we get to explain to them & talk to them 'coz the nice thing about beer for bags is it runs the whole week. And we just stack the beer. If you have been here 2 weeks ago, like this whole thing's been covered in beer. There's beer everywhere. Basically our store's turn into a bar for the whole 7 days, a free bar, open bar for the 7 days so it's kinda cool.
Customers come in & we get to talk to them about crumpler & who we are, where we're from, how it got started. We get out there and try to just spread the love & we not only give them bags but all like the 800 cases of beer we got from beer for bags. We ship that out to our retailers & to all our sponsored events. We used to think, we get to share the beer 'coz we can't drink 800 cases of beer, well we could but it would'nt be very productive for a business, & we'd probably all end up in AA. So, we share the beer around so thats kinda spread the love.
